Unos analistas hicieron una investigación titulado On the Future of Portable Game Consoles: Analysis & Forecasts y predicen que Microsoft acabaría sacando una consola portátil a fines del 2007 o principios del 2008.

Sería una consola con capacidades multimedia como el PSP, pero ellos creen que esa sería una gran oportunidad para la compañía de Gates.

En otras noticias también Apple quiere entrar a la industria de los videojuegos.

Steve Jobs dijo que está contratando gente que sepa hacer videojuegos y que estaría dirigido por un ex-miembro de Lucas Arts:Mike Lampell.Dijo que usando el ITunes Music Store se podrían conseguir e incluso algunos serían compatibles con el IPod.
